Awards

Teams compete for over $120,000 of prize money and the opportunities to connect with leading scientists, engineers, and entrepreneurs to guide them in bringing their concept to the commercial marketplace.

 

All finalists will also have amazing resources and opportunities through their participation in the Innovation SummitTM. In addition, finalists will receive great public recognition and other awards for their participation in the competition. First, second, and third place teams will receive cash grants., and First place teams will be inducted as Conrad Laureates and invited to participate as Advisory Board members for the Conrad Foundation upon their graduation from high school.

 

Monetary prizes are divided as follows:

 

Educational Grants - the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams from each competition category will receive educational grants to be divided as follows: 50% to the team's school or sponsoring organization (club, group, etc.); 25% to the team's advisor; and 25% to the team members. Grants include a MINIMUM (see rules for details) dollar value of:

• 1st place - $10,000
• 2nd place - $6,000
• 3rd place - $4,000


The total prize purse will be supplemented by additional funding from the public support received through the team profile pages. 20% of all public support will be added to the Educational Grant prize pool.

 

Finalist Travel Expenses - All finalist teams will receive a $2000 travel stipend. This stipend assists the team in attending the Innovation SummitTM and creating their tradeshow display.
