About The National Academy Foundation The National Academy Foundation (NAF) is an acclaimed network of career-themed academies that open doors for underserved high school students to viable careers. For 30 years, NAF has refined a proven model that provides young people access to industry-specific curricula, work-based learning experiences, and relationships with business professionals. NAF academies focus on one of five career themes: finance, hospitality & tourism, information technology, engineering, and health sciences. Employees of more than 2,500 companies volunteer in classrooms, act as mentors, engage NAF students in paid internships, and serve on local advisory boards. During the 2011-12 school year, 500 NAF academies serve 60,000 students across 39 states, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands. About the National Consortium of Specialized Secondary Schools of Mathematics, Science and Technology The NCSSSMST was established in 1988 to provide a forum for schools to exchange information and program ideas and to evolve alliances between them. As of June, 2010 there were over 100 institutional members (secondary schools), representing more than 40,000 students and 1,600 educators. These are joined by nearly 100 affiliate members (colleges, universities, summer programs, foundations, and corporations) who share the goals of transforming mathematics, science, and technology education.

About Project Lead The Way Project Lead The Way (PLTW) is the nation’s leading provider of STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education curricula to middle and high schools across the United States. As a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, PLTW exists to prepare students for the global economy through its world-class curriculum, high quality professional development, and an engaged network of educators, students, universities and industry professionals. PLTW offers three programs of study: Gateway To Technology, a middle school program that introduces students to STEM subjects and provides them with a solid foundation for continued STEM education in high school; and Pathway To Engineering and Biomedical Sciences, PLTW’s high school programs, which give students hands-on, problem solving opportunities and allows them to apply lessons learned in math and science. All programs introduce students to a wide range of STEM-related careers in fields including engineering and medicine. PLTW's rigorous and comprehensive curricula has been collaboratively designed by PLTW teachers, university educators, engineering and biomedical professionals, and school administrators to promote critical thinking, creativity, innovation and real-world problem solving skills in students. About Technovation Technovation engages girls in computer science and entrepreneurship through an annual app development contest. In our program, high school girls work in teams to build smartphone apps and write business plans with the support of female mentors and their teachers. The program culminates in a final pitch competition where the girls pitch to venture capitalists and compete for $10,000 in funding to launch their company and take their app to market. Using the economics of the Internet, they've connected some of the greatest teachers to hundreds of thousands of students in almost every country on Earth.
